Will FIFA 23 be Free to Play Next Year?

FIFA 23 F2P

According to rumours from FIFA communities, EA is considering to make next year's FIFA game a free to play game where everyone can freely download and play on all available gaming platforms.

This information has become even more interesting but media when Konami revealed the next version of their football game, formerly known as PES and now as eFootball as a free to play with some exclusive features such as cross-platform playing. Konami's eFootball 2022 will be published in coming September across all platforms for free and is playable online between users on different platforms - from mobile to PS5 consoles.

It seems that EA Sports has left with no choice to make their next coming football game free if they want to stay in the completion with Konami. Currently, FIFA 22 costs from USD 60 to USD 100 depending on its edition. This could mean that users paying this amount to play FIFA game, could download a football game with almost the same quality just for free.

FIFA 22 release date is on 1st of October 2021 and will be released for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, Google Stadia and PC (Steam).

Some FIFA fans say that they will still buy the game even when it is not free. The number of the licensed teams and players in FIFA is one of the most important reasons that this is more popular in compare with Konami's football game.

There are already some free to play football games such as Football Star game in the market which can be played totally for free, however making the big games such as EA FIFA free to play could have an impact on other sport games and consider their developers to either change their prices or make them completely free.
